White Wine Lemon Pepper Shrimp
This white wine lemon pepper shrimp is the perfect dish for late summer! The fruity and crisp Pinot Gris white wine enhances the lemon flavoring which makes this dish really shine! The white wine lemon pepper sauce will thicken as you cook the shrimp and it creates a great sauce so I highly recommend tossing in some cooked linguini pasta with the shrimp to absorb that beautiful white wine lemon pepper sauce. Overall, this dish is summer comfort food at it's finest y'all!
Equipment
- 1 Large Sauce Pan
- 1 Cutting board To clean the shrimp.
- 1 Knife To clean the shrimp.
- 1 Medium Glass Bowl
- 1 Wine Bottle Opener If wine is corked.
- 1 Handheld Zester
- 1 Large Spoon

- 2 lbs Fresh Jumbo Shrimp – Peeled and deveined.
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 4 tbsp Salted Butter
- 1/4 cup Pinot Gris Wine
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Lemon Pepper Seasoning
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Lemon – For zest garnish. (Optional)
Instructions
- Lets prep! If your shrimp are not pre-peeled and deveined you want to start by doing this. Remove the tails as well. After you have fully peeled and deveined the shrimp give them a quick rinse with water to ensure there are no shells left on the shrimp before cooking.
- Once your shrimp are peeled, deveined, and cleaned; place the shrimp in a medium glass bowl and pour 2 tbsp of olive oil over them. Evenly coat the shrimp with the olive oil and then add 2 tbsp of lemon pepper seasoning, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tsp garlic powder. Stir the shrimp with a spoon until they are evenly coated with the seasonings. Set aside for 10 minuets for the shrimp to absorb the seasonings.
- While we wait on the shrimp we need to pre-heat a large sauce pan over medium-low heat and add 4 tbsp of salted butter to slowly melt.
- When the butter has completely melted place the shrimp in the large sauce pan and bump up the heat to medium heat so we can being cooking the shrimp.
- As you begin to notice the shrimp turning light pink in color add 1/4 cup Pinot Gris wine to the sauce pan and continue to cook the shrimp for another 3 minuets while stirring them around in the sauce pan.
- When the shrimp are a rich pink color they are done! Top them with some fresh lemon zest and they are ready to serve!
Notes
These shrimp are delicious when served over a bed of white rice or with cooked linguini pasta tossed in with them after adding the fresh lemon zest. Enjoy, my friends!
